DHARNA WADHWA : I had appeared in DPMT, VMMC, AIPMT, PIMS, AFMC and CMC vellore.

- ETG: Any other achievements?
DHARNA WADHWA : Yes, I had Attended Biology 3 rd level camp organised by INBO at
HBCSE, Mumbai.

- About preparation for the examinations?
- ETG: How many hours in a day did you study to prepare for the examination?
DHARNA WADHWA : I studied for 34 hours during weekdays and 810 hours during weekends.
- ETG: On which topic and chapters you laid more stress in each subject?
DHARNA WADHWA :
Physics - Kinematics, Modern, Wave Oscillations, Thermodynamics etc.
Chemistry - Organic, Physical. Biology - Morphology of plants, Anatomy of plants,
Animal Physiology, Biotechnology, plant physiology.
- How much time does one require for serious preparation for this exam?
DHARNA WADHWA : Two years of serious preparation is enough.
- ETG: Which subjects/topics you were strong/weak at?
DHARNA WADHWA : I was weak in
Physics - Thermal properties of matter, Mechanical properties of fluids.
Chemistry - Inorganic
Biology - Classification of plants and Animals.
I was strong in
Physics - Electrostatics, Magnetism, Electricity, Modern etc.
Chemistry - Organic
Biology - Animal and plant physiology, Families of flowering plants, Ecology.
- ETG: Which Books / Magazines / Tutorial /Coaching Classes you followed?
DHARNA WADHWA : I was a regular reader of ETG explorers and study materials.
- ETG: In your words what are the components of an ideal preparation plan?
DHARNA WADHWA : Regular hardwork faith God and confidence in yourself will help
you achieve your goals.
- ETG: What role did the following play in your success : (a) Parents (b) Teachers
(c) School.
DHARNA WADHWA : (a) Parents Played the most important role in my success. They were
the ones who not only kept my hopes high but also made me study when I felt like
giving up. They were my teachers and my guides. (b) Teachers whatever I learnt was
usually when someone was teaching me. My teachers at my school and coaching were
excellent and they thoroughly cleared all my concepts. I owe my result to them.
(c) School I had a 75% attendance at school and it really helped me build my basics.
The practical skills developed at school were also very helpful.
- ETG: Your family background?
DHARNA WADHWA : Both my parents are doctors. My father is in the rehabilitation
department in safdarjung hospital and my mother is in private practice. My sister
studies in 10th std.
- ETG: What mistake you think you shouldn’t have made?
DHARNA WADHWA : I should have laid more stress on NCERT from the beginning. Also,
I should have started doing objective questions regularly from 11th only.
- ETG: Considering other hot careers today for eg. Infotech, Biotechnology, why do
you still want to be a doctor?
DHARNA WADHWA : Nothing beats the cham of being a doctor and the satisfaction it
can give you.
- ETG: What do you think was the secret of your success?
DHARNA WADHWA : God’s grace and regular hardwork with my parents, and teacher’s
guidance along with the well wishes and blessings of family and friends helped me
achieve what I have.
- ETG: What advice would you like to give our readers who are PMT/IIT/AIEEE aspirants?
DHARNA WADHWA : Please read your NCERT textbooks thoroughly and clear all your concepts
and basics. Try not to cram up rare facts but strengthen the most common and simple
things.
